Press Release
A Bush Tax Increase? GOP Presidential candidate John Cox Says "DON'T DO IT, Mr. President!"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Republican Presidential hopeful John Cox has three words for Pres. Bush: "Don't do it." "The president must not bow to pressure or believe those who are telling him he must raise taxes to secure some kind of legacy," he said. "His father's legacy is tainted by a broken 'no new taxes' pledge. The son must not commit the same sin as the father." Pres. Bush's spokesmen have refused to deny that plans to announce a tax hike proposal will be unveiled during Tuesday's speech. Cox, the former Cook County, IL Republican Party president and a Certified Public Accountant, said raising taxes would be a disaster for the economy. "A new round of taxes would freeze the economic growth that is creating jobs and creating record high tax revenues," he said. "What the career politicians don't understand is that the problem isn't a lack of funds, the problem is too much spending in Washington," he said. "Sadly, the former Republican Congress failed to act like Republicans, and instead they ran up debt faster than at any time in our history. We certainly can't expect better from the Democrats, but we darned sure expect better from a Republican president." John Cox is available for television, print and radio interviews. John H. Cox, 51, is the former president of the Cook County (IL) Republican Party. He is a CPA, real estate broker, attorney and investment advisor. John Cox lives in Chicago, IL with his wife and four daughters. For more information, visit www.cox2008.com |
