GOP Pres. Candidate Cox Praises Bush's Call for Expanded Military; Says The Need for More Troops "Has Never Been Clearer"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006

Statement from Republican presidential candidate John Cox:

"I applaud Pres. Bush's call for an expansion of the military.

Our military must have the resources to protect our liberties, wherever they are threatened, and an expansion of the size of our military forces is absolutely necessary to accomplish that goal.

When our vital national interests are at stake, and when we must act and act quickly to protect our very survival, as we did after Sept. 11, we must have the tools with which to stand up to those who wish us harm.

As we face the increasing threat of terrorism, especially from radicals in the Islamic world, the need for a strong military has never been clearer.

This struggle against terror will not end quickly. Some envision it a struggle stretching over a generation. I pray that it is not, but we must be prepared now for that eventuality."

John H. Cox, 51, is the former president of the Cook County (IL) Republican Party. He is a CPA, real estate broker, attorney and investment advisor. John Cox lives in Chicago, IL with his wife and four daughters. For more information, visit www.cox2008.com
